About the initiatives
Catwings
Catwings is an initiative by Steph Joyce and Theresa Zwerschke, whose practice is rooted in self-organized hosting and facilitating communal learning, gathering-based art and collective action. Their research is invested in the conditions and potentialities of self-organised art practices that move beyond the product-centered idea of the artwork as commodity. Catwings’ Collective Autonomy Reading Group rehearses bi-weekly at cittipunkt, Berlin and is open to everyone to participate.
Clublokaal
Clublokaal is an open and welcoming art space for collective practices and experiments in resisting, located in Breda, the Netherlands. It is a place where makers meet, collaborate and learn from each other, and where art, discussion and action come together. Based on solidarity and mutual support, Clublokaal explores forms of collective self-organisation and commoning that foster long-term collaboration, both locally and beyond.
HumDrumPress
HumDrumPress approaches publishing as an expanded practice and works with a purpose-built, commons-informed publishing model to create all their publications. As part of their publishing model, HumDrumPressl have revised each stage of the traditional publishing cycle to (re)make the processes as communal, open-access, and multivocal as possible.
They work with tools and methods such as open book events, collective editing, collaborative design, logbooks, and open-access publishing, and are committed to activating the knowledge contained in a publication far before and long after it takes on material form. HumDrumPress was co-founded in 2021 by Amy Gowen & Wibke Bramesfeld.
