As part of (un(h)armed, activities will take place at Clublokaal on Remembrance Day and Liberation Day. Participation in these activities is free and there will be soup available.
May 4 (Alternative Remembrance Day) | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Every first Monday of the month is Open Monday at Clublokaal. We eat a bowl of soup together and discuss whatever is on our minds at the moment. For example, the upcoming exhibition, planting a vegetable garden, or urgent issues currently in the news.
Open Monday coincides with Remembrance Day on May 4. Together, we commemorate those who are (too often) forgotten during the national Remembrance Day. Think of victims of colonialism, LGBTQ+ victims, Roma and Sinti, and the many victims of war and genocide today.
May 5 (Liberation Day) | 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Join the Critical Freedom Walk with Breda and Tilburg for Peace! Together we’ll walk through Breda and pause—literally and figuratively—to reflect on what freedom and peace mean. How free are we really, and what does the slogan “never again” mean in this era of pervasive fascism?

Accessibility
Anyone who, for whatever reason, cannot join the walk is welcome to join us for Freedom Soup starting at 7:00 PM.
Both activities are accessible for people who don't speak Dutch.
