We will start by reminiscing about an encounter and exchanging memories. For example, someone with whom you once had a funny interaction and never saw again, or something someone once said to you but you never forgot. And what did this encounter leave you with?
We will process these impressions into a shell that can be worn and played with. With the help of a warm cup of tea, various materials, laughter, and a good dose of teamwork.
In this way, the workshop is also an encounter that will result in puppets that capture a glimpse of that encounter. We will conclude with soup and a moment to admire the results. Now, you can no longer feel uncomfortable asking your neighbor, with whom you worked at the table, for their name. Because what an interesting encounter that was!

The Craft Café is a part of Clublokaal's OPEN HOUSE programme called 'Cafélokaal'. Every Friday, a different community-focused host takes over our café for a small activity or get together. Read more about Cafélokaal here.
Every third Friday of the month, Sofieke Haarhuis hosts the Craft Café. For this workshop, she collaborated with Club Kijkdoos.
Sofieke is an art teacher in training. She came up with the idea for the anti-winter depression craft session as a way to get out of her head during the winter months. She prefers to do this together with others!
