Every Friday, a different community-focused organization/artist(s) takes over our café from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
We call these Fridays Cafélokaal. The bar is open, there's something to do, see, or make and everyone is welcome to drop in, whether you want to be in on the action or just want to have a coffee. Admission is always free.
Every week there is a different theme, linked to the host. Do you have an idea that fits in with one of the themes of cafélokaal? Would you like to organize something, collaborate, or are you curious about the possibilities? Feel free to send an email to kloosterlaan138@gmail.com.

In 2009, Tientjes was founded by three mothers who wanted to share their talents and help others who were in similar challenging (financial) circumstances. What began as a small, close-knit group operating from a living room, quickly grew into an organization with a physical meeting place (the Rondeel) in Breda's city center. Since June 2024, Tientjes organizes activities at various locations, such as "Eet & Ontmoet" (Eat & Meet) every second and fourth Monday of the month at the Mondiaal Centrum Breda and the drawing club at Annahuis. More information and registration: tientjesbredaa@gmail.com; www.tientjesbreda.nl.
Story and Storytelling Theatre
The long-running and successful activity Story and Storytelling Theatre will take place once a month at Clublokaal, during which a stream of stories, poems, and songs will be performed by the audience itself. Everyone is welcome to present their own work, or to come watch and listen to others perform from 2pm-4pm. Afterwards, there is a cozy get-together until 6 pm.
Story and Storytelling Theatre is led by Joshua from The Queen of Clubs Entertainment. Would you like to perform something yourself? For more information, contact: info@thequeenofclubs.nl; thequeenofclubs.nl.

Every 2nd Friday of the month
Reading Café
with Lea Ter Meulen and Noa Xavier
Lea lives in Rotterdam and primarily works with numbers during the day, but her heart lies more with letters. She has lent some of her books to Clublokaal because she wants all books to be widely read and discussed. She is interested in (neighbourhood) libraries as places to meet and learn collectively.
Once a month, Lea organises the Reading Café at Clublokaal. Everyone is welcome to come and read their own book or one from the collective library. You can also bring books to add to our shelf! Sometimes there will be an activity, workshop, or collective reading session. See you next time at the Reading Café!

It's cold! It's dark! It's time to combat the winter blues with a good dose of crafting. Because, what's better for our minds than working with our hands? Everyone is welcome to join us, so come on by! Materials will be provided, and there will be a fun craft project. You can take your creations home with you to brighten up your space during these colder times (or as a fun project for someone else) <3.
Sofieke is an art teacher in training. She came up with the idea for the anti-winter depression craft session as a way to get out of her head during the winter months. She prefers to do this together with others!

La Grazieria with Grazia Gallo
La Grazieria is a social art project by Grazia Gallo. The hairdresser-artist sees the hair salon as a place where encounters, memories, and care come together.
During Cafélokaal, La Grazieria – Pop-up Nostalgia will appear as a temporary salon in Clublokaal one Friday a month. Visitors are invited to get a haircut, share a story, or simply be present in a calm, open atmosphere. The hairdresser's chair becomes a place of exchange, while the waiting area offers space for writing, drawing, and sharing memories of hair and home.
Grazia Gallo is a visual artist, hairdresser, and researcher. Her work revolves around themes such as home in relation to migration, nostalgia, working-class identity, and social housing architecture. By creating environments with found objects, textiles, ceramics, and other materials, she invites viewers to enter spaces where her personal jewelry serves as portals to imagine and build new worlds.
